Families and Self-Advocates register and attend the conference free of charge.

State/Voluntary Agency and Department of Education Professionals MUST pre-register. Please send a $25 registration fee per person made payable to Queens Council on Developmental Disabilities.  Send payment to YAI, 460 W. 34th Street, 12th floor, New York, NY, 10001, Attn: Toni Martinez

If you purchase a table at the resource fair, you do not need to register up to 2 staff who will work the table. Registration for the Resource Fair is a separate form.

Keynote: Dr. Peter Gerhardt, Autism Now!

Peter Gerhardt, Ed.D., is the Executive Director of The EPIC School in Paramus, NJ. Dr. Gerhardt has more than 35 years’ experience utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in support of children and adults with autism spectrum disorders in educational, employment, residential and community-based settings. He has authored and co-authored articles and book chapters on the needs of adolescents and adults with ASD and has presented nationally and internationally on this topic.  Dr. Gerhardt serves as Chairman of the Scientific Council for the Organization for Autism Research and is on numerous professional advisory boards including the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies.  He received his doctorate from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey’s Graduate School of Education.

Trained staff will answer your questions and guide you through enrollment in various entitlements, including Medicaid Service Coordinatino (MSC), Medicaid, SSI, Transition, MTA, and travel training. Clinical Referrals can be made for evaluations required for eligibility. Also Front Door Q&A!

 

Resource Fair

Representatives from OPWDD Agencies and Private and non-Profit Vendors, as well as other service providers, can answer questions regarding access to their specific goods and services.

 

Interpretation Services

If you will require the services of an interpreter, please indicate your need on the registration form.  Remember to specify the language that you require.

Municipal Parking available in the area accessible via 38th Avenue or 39th Avenue West of Main Street.
